Katie & Justin were the first of my “pandemic weddings”. This was the first step of, okay..how are we going to go about all of this? This severely intimate wedding almost even an elopement, sparked the interest to continue down this path.

Going from full blown traditional weddings to this was a bit of an adjustment but it made me open my eyes. It made me realize what the day is actually about. It isn’t about pleasing the masses or having the most expensive food, the most bridesmaids, or the clouded dance floor. It comes down to, what is going to make you happy? How are you willing to spend your time?

In these moments, nothing else mattered besides one another. After their ceremony, we escaped to the woods for a bit to let the reality sink in of becoming husband and wife. There is something calming about being in the woods with your lover, everything slows down. Your focus remains solely on them.

We stayed out until our fingers got a little chilly then parted ways. I always look back at these images and can immediately feel the peace that I felt that day.
